

family on the 14th of March 2022 following a battle with lung cancer.
Bob was born on October 31, 1947 in Mojave, California to parents Robert Lee Turner & Roberta Lee
Turner. The family moved to Austin, Texas in 1951.
Bob graduated from Lanier High School in 1965, he then attended the University of Texas at Austin.
Bob joined Austin Business Machines in 1967. Bob took over a struggling family business, he had a
choice to finish his Engineering Degree or save his mother from bankruptcy. Bob became president of
Austin Business Machines and he grew his business from three employees to 110 employees with five
locations in Texas and Oklahoma. After 28 years as a business owner, he was unexpectedly approached
by a large corporation to purchase Austin Business Machines in 1995. He said, “I’ll listen to what they
have to say, I may or may not throw a wild ass number out.”. He called his wife and reported, “I think I
just sold our business.”. He agreed to work for Danka Corporation through a transition time of six
months. He stayed on for 10 years as a Regional Vice President. At the age of 57 he retired.
He served as President of National Office Machine Dealers Association (NOMDA) and TOLA.
Bob distinguished himself among his peers by earning many awards. He served on President’s Council of
Xerox, Minolta, Panasonic, and Silver Reed.
His hard work, leadership, and persistence allowed him to successfully navigate his company through
many challenges.
Remembered by his colleagues for his knowledge, being a trusted mentor, and loyalty to others, he will be greatly missed by those who worked with him.
He had a tremendous interest in UNESCO World Heritage Sites and hoped to someday visit them all.
Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed and remembered for his big heart, kindness, and generosity to his family, friends, and relatives.
Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years Jody Turner, his children, Robert III, Matthew (Dana), Eric
(Shara), Brandon (Ashley), and Cory (McCall).
Grandchildren Abbey, Kale, Robert IV, Kolbie, Campbell, Tripp, and Trierre.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Myrna Bushnell and Barbara Buckner.
The family is deeply appreciative of the compassion and loving care provided by Vantage Hospice.
A Memorial Service to celebrate, honor, and remember the life of Bob will be held at Katy Funeral Home(23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77494) on March 21, 2022 at 1:00 pm
