

Ronald Gene Owens, a beloved resident of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on July 10, 1958, Ronald lived a life marked by dedication to his family, career, and personal passions.
Ronald grew up in San Mateo, California, the cherished son of Eugene and Juanita Owens. He graduated from San Carlos High School in San Jose, California. Ronald served honorably in the Navy and later as a Merchant Marine, earning an Honorable Discharge for his service.
He married Carolyn Owens (Lewis) on December 21, 1985, in San Mateo, California. Ronald was a devoted husband and father, survived by his wife Carolyn, and children Rashele Owens and Ronald G. Owens Jr. His family was central to his life, and he was best known for hosting family and friends, generously providing home-cooked meals and spreads.
Ronald had a zest for life, enjoying cooking, exploring new restaurants, and traveling to different states and countries, where he collected artifacts. He was passionate about watching the stock markets, keeping up with world news, and planning trips.
Preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Juanita Owens, as well as Patricia Ray, Belton Owens, Jo Anne Owens, and Janice Stewart, Ronald leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He is also survived by his sisters Corliss (Owens) Turner (Dwight) and Sherry Owens.
A visitation will be held on August 8, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, both at Katy Funeral Home, located at 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77494.
Ronald's life was a testament to his love for family, his dedication to service, and his adventurous spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
