Ruthann Johnson

Born in Sterling, Illinois, and raised in Rock Falls, Ruthann found joy in her family, her flowers, and her many hobbies, including collecting memorabilia such as Beanie Babies and Coca-Cola items.

She worked in many roles throughout her life, including librarian, fabric store manager, hardware store manager, flower delivery driver, and bookkeeper.

She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and quick wit, always accompanied by a playful smirk that made everyone around her smile.

Ruthann was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Grace Finley; her sisters, Wanda Francis and Janice Finley; her first husband, Bruce Eller; her second husband, Arthur Johnson; and her daughter, Tammy Eller.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Penny Duvall and her children Rebecca, Angelique, and Brianna; the late Tammy Eller, lovingly remembered through her daughter, Kylie Schultz; Dawn Marroquin (Oscar) and their children Erika, Daniel, and Martin; Gale Johnson (Veronica) and their children Kristen, Heaven, Sierra, Sydney, Hailey, and Justin; Hope Morris and her children Dacia and Arthur; Kyle Johnson (Veronica) and their children Jesus, Chelsi, Cyla, Kaitlynn, Kyle, and Waylon. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Daniel, Miah, Kiyana, Makayla, AJ, Amerie, Guinevere, Demitri, Avery, Gracyn, Nora, Hannah, Cole, Alina, Judah, Joe’Angel, Quinn, Alonzo, Aurora, and Valentina.

A service to honor Ruthann’s life will be held on April 14, 2026, at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, Texas 77494. Viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m., with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
