

Steven "Steve" Spits, age 63, passed away August 30, 2023, in Katy, TX. He was born on December 11, 1959, in Levittown, PA, to Eduard and Elise Spits, who had recently immigrated from Holland. Steve was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.
After graduating from Neshaminy Maple Point High School in 1977, Steve pursued his higher education at Slippery Rock University, where he earned his BS degree in Business in 1981. He began his career in banking in the mid-1980s, starting as a Branch Manager, and eventually transitioning into Internal Audit. Steve held various positions in Audit Management at several banks throughout his career, culminating in his role as an Audit Manager at Prosperity Bank. He found great satisfaction in his work and cherished the relationships he formed with his colleagues.
Outside of his professional life, Steve had a deep passion for sports. He possessed an impressive knowledge of all things sports-related and could recount the winners of championships from any given year. He was particularly devoted to the Ohio State Buckeyes and remained loyal to his teams through thick and thin. Steve also enjoyed spending quality time with his family, relishing in their company and sharing memorable dinners together.
Steve is survived by his loving spouse, Anne M. Spits, and their children, Sean, Lauren, Rachel, Mark, and Eric. He is also survived by his mother, Elise Spits, his brother, Robert Spits, SIL Charlene Spits, niece Cayla Spits and her twins Brixlee and Micah, nephew Robbie Spits, and extended family members Colin Campbell and Natalie Pedigo. He was preceded in death by his father, Eduard Spits, who passed away in 2012.
A celebration of Life in honor of Steve will take place on September 10th, at 4:00 PM at The Fellowship at Cinco Ranch in Katy, TX. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Center for research.
Steve will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His warm and friendly nature endeared to everyone he encountered, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have shared in his life.
