

Trubal O’Dowdy, 52 passed away unexpectedly Wednesday May 1, 2019 at his home in Katy, Texas. He was born on October 14, 1966 in Crane, Texas to Billie and Danny O’Dowdy. Trubal moved to the Houston area in 1995 with his wife Sherrie and settled in Katy, Texas in 2001 were they raised their three children.
He graduated from WB Ray High School in 1984. Trubal started as a chef and worked his way up to become an Executive Director at Brookdale Galleria. He was a loyal, fun loving, enthusiastic, hardworking Brookdale family member for 30 plus years. Trubal was an advocate for a cure for Alzheimer’s and walked every year to raise awareness and funds for research. Trubal was an animal lover who took in ALL kinds of lost little and big animals of any and all species. He loved to cook for his family, enjoyed family trips to the beach and was very involved in his children’s lives. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, and patient father who encouraged them to pursue their goals small or large and supported them in all aspects and life choices they made.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Patrick and Ruth O’Dowdy and grandfather Bill.
Trubal is survived by his grandma Jane “Granny” Webb; parents, Billie and Danny; wife, Sherrie; children, Benjamin, Kye, and Liam of Katy, Texas; sisters Julie O’Dowdy Kirk, Leanne O’Dowdy Dodd, Laramie Edwards; brother, Quinn Wilson; two aunts, and cousins.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday May 11, 2019 at 11:00 am at Katy Funeral Home 23350 Kingsland Blvd. Katy, Texas 77494, with a reception to follow at Brookdale Galleria 2929 Post Oak Blvd. Houston, Texas 77056. Chaplain, Daniel Schramm will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Trubal’s life.
