It is with profound love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yolanda Lerma DeLeon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and treasured matriarch, who left this world surrounded by family and in the warmth of their enduring love.
Yolanda was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, the cherished daughter of Alfredo Lerma and Maria Valdez Lerma. Rooted deeply in faith, family, and tradition, Yolanda spent her life creating a home filled with laughter, comfort, and unforgettable meals. As a devoted housewife, her kitchen was the heart of the house—where memories were made and hearts were nourished. She was best known for her incredible cooking, her signature Bloody Marys, and her unwavering presence at every family gathering.
On July 10, 1961, she married the love of her life, Rodolfo DeLeon Jr., in San Antonio. Their love was a remarkable bond that carried them through a lifetime of joys and sorrows, and her favorite moments were those spent traveling with her "dearest darling" or simply being surrounded by the family they built together.
Yolanda had a striking presence—her favorite color, black, matched her elegance and strength. Though she never sought recognition, she undoubtedly earned the “Best Mother and Grandmother Award” in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rodolfo DeLeon Jr.; her sons, Roland Rodriguez and Saul Rodriguez Jr.; her great-granddaughter, Briana Navarro, and Briana’s unborn baby.
She is survived by her loving children: Maria Uresti (Daughter), Albert C. DeLeon (Son) and his wife Terry DeLeon, and Rodolfo DeLeon III (Son) and his wife Cynthia DeLeon. She is also survived by Irma Rodriguez, beloved wife of her late son Saul Rodriguez Jr., as well as her siblings: Rafael Lerma (Brother), San Juana Guevara (Sister), and Lydia Esquivel (Sister). She leaves behind a large and loving extended family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and dear friends who will carry on her legacy of love, warmth, and resilience.
Yolanda’s life was a living example of devotion—deeply rooted in family and unshakable in her love. Her joyful laugh, especially her famous “Ahuuuuua!,” will echo in our memories forever.
Though her hands have grown still, the love she gave continues to ripple through generations. Her story, her spirit, and her strength will remain forever in our hearts.
Rest in peace, Yolanda Lerma DeLeon. Forever loved. Never forgotten. Until we meet again.
