Ellie Geneva Clayton, 82, went to her heavenly home surrounded by her family on January 7, 2015. Ellie was born to Benjamin and Ellie Fortner on March 25, 1932 in Parvin, TX. “Nannie” as her family called her, spent a good part of her day sewing and crocheting. She also made good pecan pies, one with the paper lining still in the pan that a few people took a bite out of. On September 4, 1948 Ellie Fortner married the love of her life Henry Lucian Clayton. Henry and she were always together for 66 years and they served everyone they knew. They took care of the older ones in the family and at the church and, also, gave a helping hand to the youth directors and youth at church. Ellie never complained, even while growing tired of doctor’s visits, she would be reminded of the love of her husband, family and church family as they all prayed for her. Henry and Ellie were faithful members of the Kaufman Church of Christ. Ellie made sure her family knew how much she loved them too. Those who preceded her in death are her parents; Brother Benjamin Allen Fortner; Sister Laura Jane Abercrombie; and sister-in-laws Emma Clayton and Virginia Debecka. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband; daughters Charlotte Corcoran and husband Michael and Tina Hilton and husband Monty; grandchildren: Shellie Foster and husband Tim, Sean Corcoran, Clayton Hilton and Molly Hilton; great-grandchild Theron Foster; brother-in-law James Thomas “Bud” Clayton and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
