Frances Rosie Hetmer

Ms. Frances Vrzalik Hetmer, 93, passed away Monday in Sunflower Park Health Care Center in Kaufman. She was born in Kaufman on June 12, 1922, to Aloisia Sladacek Vrzalik and Frank Vrzalik. Frances lived her life for her family and church, organizing summer catechism classes and finding housing for visiting nuns. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and sewing. Frances retired from Southland Athletic Manufacturing Company in Terrell in 2004, at the age of 82, as a seamstress. She took pride in watching the Dallas Cowboys and saying, "I made that jersey!" She was preceded in death by her parents Aloisia and Frank Vrzalik, all of her siblings, husband Charlie Hetmer, a daughter Georgia Ann Christal, and a grandson Chase Ray Hetmer. She is survived by her daughter Betty Jean McDowell and husband Landon, son Charles Ray Hetmer and wife Twina, all from Kaufman. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
