His parents, Antonio and Angelina (Ferrandini) Bosa proudly welcomed their son into the world on April 12, 1926 in Berlin, NH. He grew up in Berlin and was a 1947 graduate of Notre Dame High School.
Arthur was drafted into the armed services in 1944 and chose to serve in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
After his honorable discharge in 1946, he attended St. Anselm’s College for his undergraduate studies and then received his degree in medicine from the Illinois School of Podiatry. His whole life centered on his love of caring for people. He truly loved his work as a podiatrist and being able to help others. That love was returned to him full-circle, creating many friendships that he cherished over the years.
He was also a man of great faith. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Bernard Church in Keene, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #819 of St. Bernard Church. Dr. Bosa was also a longtime member of the William Marconi Italian Society.
He will be greatly missed by his many friends within the community as well as his cherished family; his wife of 63 ½ years, Doris Y. (Peloquin) Bosa of Keene; two sons, Marc A. Bosa of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and John W. Bosa of North Miami, FL; two grandsons, Joseph Bosa and Nicholas Bosa; and many extended family throughout the United States, Canada and Italy. He was predeceased by three sisters, Maryanne Morrissette, Lydia Fairbanks, Maryrose Malila; and a brother, The Very Rev. Msg. John J. Bosa.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 7th at 10:30AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene. Burial with full military honors will follow at 2:30PM in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Route 3, Boscawen, NH. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. The Knights of Columbus Council #819 will conduct a prayer service at the funeral home at 7:00PM. The William Marconi Italian Society will form an honor guard at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00PM and will conduct a prayer service at 3:30PM.
