Barbara Nancy Pierce

She was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 29, 1949, and grew up in Brooklyn later moving to Queens, NY.

In 1973, Barbara moved to Keene where she worked in retail sales for many years with the former Rich’s Department Store in Keene. She later attended Keene Beauty Academy and opened her own hairdressing salon, Hair Designs by Barb, which she successfully ran for over fifteen years.

She enjoyed volunteering at Feeding Tiny Tummies and was part of the widow’s luncheon group, supporting each other and creating many friendships following the loss of their spouses.

Barbara was a longtime member of the Sturtevant Chapel in Keene, serving as a deaconess and as part of the kid’s connections group.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Fred Serpico of Keene, Barbara M. Serpico and her partner James Van Overbeke of Ellenton, FL, Santo Serpico and his wife Angela of Keene, Anthony Pierce and his partner Martha Alberto of Swanzey, NH; her grandchildren, Cody W.R. Frazier, Zack Serpico, Dylan Serpico, Tiana Serpico, Julianna Serpico, Emma Serpico, Cameron Pierce, Tayla Pierce, Carmela Pierce; her great-grandchildren Cain Serpico, Eden Serpico, Raelee Jordan; and a step-daughter, Cara Pierce of White River Junction, VT. Her husband of 30 years, Robert E. Pierce, Jr., a granddaughter, Lilly Serpico, her mother, Pauline Lafonte, and a stepdaughter Andrea Pierce, predeceased her.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 2nd at 10:00am in the Sturtevant Chapel, 15 Washington Avenue, Keene. Burial with committal prayers will follow the funeral service in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Avenue, Keene.
