Brian Alfred Houle

His parents, Clement and Alice (Watkins) Houle welcomed their son into the world on December 1, 1947, in Keene, NH. He grew up in Keene and was a 1967 graduate of Keene High School.

Brian worked as a mechanic for over twenty years alongside his good friend, Gary, with Frans Autobody in Keene. He also owned his own business, Cheshire Autobody in Winchester, NH, restoring and repairing hotrods, a passion of his. He loved stockcar racing and was proud to be a part of his son’s pit crew, taking care of any of the required repairs and upkeep to his stockcar. Brian helped work on his son Brandon’s go kart to race at the High Grove Speedway until he built Brandon’s race care for running at the Monadnock Speedway. He also worked many years on Friday nights as a tech inspector at the Monadnock Speedway.

He loved to talk about cars and racing, especially with his good friends, Joe and Kevin. He was also a NASCAR fan, enjoying watching the Sunday races. In essence, he loved anything with wheels!

Other skills for Brian found him to be an amateur gunsmith and participating in competitive shooting matches.

He will be greatly missed by many, especially his daughter, Mandy Houle and her fiancé Ryan Johnson, of Keene; his son, Brandon Houle of Keene; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Newell and Benjamin Johnson; a great-grandson, Callahan Blanchette; and two brothers, Norman Houle and his wife, Kimberly, of Gilsum, NH and Christopher Houle. His life partner, Beverly Hooper; his father and stepmother, Shirley Grover; and his mother and stepfather, Cecil Parker, predeceased him.

A celebration of Brian’s life will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Frogg Brewing, 580 Sawyers Crossing Road, Swanzey, NH. All are welcome.
