He was born on April 29, 1957, in Brattleboro, Vermont, to Kenneth E. and Marion (Gadway) Ruskowski.
Known as a dependable and highly skilled heavy equipment operator, he began his career with 24 years of service with the Town of Winchester (NH) Highway Department, then went on to spend many years at Cold River Materials in Swanzey, NH, continuing through its transition to Lane Construction and later Brox Industries, until his retirement.
Brian’s life centered around the simple joys of working on the family farm. He loved being out on the land—splitting wood, cutting hay, tending to the property, and putting the equipment to good use. Whether he was working the fields or hunting in the woods, he found peace in being outdoors and taking care of the place he loved most.
Brian will be remembered for his fun-loving personality, his easy smile, and the good times shared with family and friends. He is survived by his children, son, Jamie Ruskowski of Gill, MA; daughter Sheena Royce and her husband Andrew, of Fitzwilliam, NH; a step-son, Stephen Hammond and his wife Nichole of Winchester, NH; his grandchildren Gabriel "Gabe” Smith, Jackson Royce, Christian Royce and Nicholas Royce, Russell Hammond, Kaylee Hammond, Caiden Hammond; brothers Raymond Ruskowski and his wife Deb of Perry, FL, Gene Ruskowski and his wife Liz of Fort Walton Beach, FL; sister, Karen Ethier and her husband, Mike, of West Dummerston, VT; several nieces and nephews including Alan Ruskowski and Richard Miner, both of whom shared a special bond with Brian; and his former wife of over forty years, Su-An Ruskowski of Winchester.
Services for Brian will be held privately by the family.
