Charles G. Draper Jr.

Charles “Chuck” G. Draper, 62, a resident of Keene, NH and former resident of Gilford, VT. Passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Westwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Keene, following a period of declining health.

He was born December 1, 1952, in Batavia, New York, the son of Charles G. and Charlotte (Gould) Draper, Sr. He attended Batavia High School. He proudly served our Nation as a member of the United States Military. On May 1, 1970 he married the love of his life, Wanda Stewart.

For many years he worked for the Book Press in Vermont and then went to work for Fibermark. He was a very hard working man who was devoted to working to provide a safe and loving home for his family. Later in his life he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially if he was teaching them how to fish or shoot a BB-Gun. He enjoyed being in the outdoors: hunting and fishing were two of his favorite hobbies. He was also an avid Buffalo Bills Fan, and watched all of their games. He also had a special love for animals, especially his Boxer: Gus.

He is survived by his daughter: Melissa “Missy” Dunham and her husband Charlie of Keene, NH, his son: Charles G. Draper, III and his wife Erika of Rawsoville, VT, his mother: Charlotte Draper of Batavia, NY, eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, three sisters: Diana Draper of Batavia, Janice Williams of Batavia and Charlotte Jepson and her husband Butch of Batavia, five brothers: Jeff Draper and his wife Tammy of Batavia, Roger Draper and his wife Diane of Batavia, Dennis Draper and his wife Betty of LeRoy, NY, Gary Draper of Batavia, and Andrew Draper of West Virginia, and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is predeceased by his wife of 38 years: Wanda Draper, his father and his brother: Brian Draper.

A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Batavia, New York on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00am.
