He was born January 3, 1942, in Boston, MA, the son of Charles L. Foster Sr. and Virginia (Kelsen) Foster. He was a 1959 graduate of Peterborough High School.
For several years he worked for the Peterborough Police Department, before going to work for the U.S. Postal Service. While working for the postal service, he developed strong relationships with many people in the community. After retirement, he went to work for SAU #1 as a bus driver for children with special needs; this brought him great joy and satisfaction.
Compassion, understanding and a wonderful sense of humor were just a few of his finest traits. His compassion was most evident in the love and devotion he had for his family and friends. Les was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. He bonded to them very early in their lives and remained devoted to them always. He was there for his family in both happy and trying times. He was a lover of animals, particularly his chocolate lab Kate who was always by his side.
