

He was born in Portsmouth, NH on October 13, 1980, the son of Phillip and Randie (Goodell) Kent. He grew up in Swanzey attending local schools and was a 1999 graduate of Monadnock Regional High School in Swanzey.
Chris worked for the past 15 years with O’Brien Painting of Swanzey, and developed a special relationship with the entire O’Brien family, a friendship he cherished, and considered all of the O’Brien’s as family.
He was an avid hunter and although not successful in the hunt, he was successful in the many friendships and good times he shared with his hunting buddies while enjoying and taking in the great outdoors.
He enjoyed playing pool and was a longtime member of a local pool league. He also took great pride in coaching his daughter’s T-ball team in the Swanzey Cal Ripken League. His favorite pastime however was the time spent with his family, especially his wife and daughter, creating many special memories together. His friendship with many was also very important to him, creating special bonds with many he considered as family.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Christina M. “Chrissy” Kent of Swanzey, his daughter who was his whole world, Violet M. Jackson of Swanzey; his mother, Randie Kent, of Swanzey; his father, Phillip Kent and his wife, Ann, of Ocala, FL; two brothers, Chip Patterson and his wife, Sierra, of Westminster, VT, Todd Patterson of Ocala; a sister, Carla Mitchell and her husband, William, of Lawrence, MA; his paternal grandmother, Elaine Kent of Beverly Hills, FL; his mother-in-law, Barbara Edwards, of Swanzey; his father-in-law, Michael Edwards and his wife, Joyce, of Blackwood, NJ; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends that he cherished in his life. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Harold Kent; his maternal grandmother whom he shared a very special bond with, Barbara Goodell, and his maternal grandfather, Philip Goodell.
A funeral service will be held Monday, December 28th at 11:00 AM in the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 695 Old Homestead Highway, Swanzey. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Swanzey. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, December 27th from 4:00 to 6:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.
