Ciona Marie Whitcomb

Her parents, Edward and Ciona (Trombly) Martell welcomed their daughter into the world on January 24, 1938, in Keene. Ciona was a 1957 graduate of Keene High School.

She was very proud of her role of homemaker, wife and mother to her four children. She also took great pride in working in her flower gardens and was a member of the Keene Garden Club.

Ciona was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Keene Country Club, participating for many years in the women’s golf league. She loved traveling, especially her many trips with her sister, and going on cruises.

She will be greatly missed by many, especially her husband of 66 years, Robert A. "Bob" Whitcomb of Keene; her children, Gwen Tiller and her husband, Hugh, of Vero Beach, FL, Gregg Whitcomb, Melanie Whitcomb and her partner, Peter Sprague, of Roxbury, NH, Michael Whitcomb and his wife, Julia, of Harrisburg, NC; her grandchildren, William Tiller, Amanda Peloquin, Cameron Whitcomb, Ricki Fish, Kalene Regan, Lacee Regan, Mikaela Whitcomb, Jake Whitcomb, Lucas Whitcomb; seven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Cheryl Sawyer and Velieda Henderson, both of Texas; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family members. A granddaughter, Katrina Hall, and a sister, Ardis Trombly, predeceased her.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 11:00am in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene. Burial will be held privately by the family.
