22 julio , 195529 diciembre , 2019

Dana F. Navish, 64, born in Keene, NH, and a resident of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2019, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL, after a period of declining health.

He was born July 22, 1955, the oldest son of Floyd and Louise Navish (pre-deceased 2017 and 1990). He attended local schools and was a 1973 graduate of Keene High School where he was an avid athlete participating in multiple sports. His favorite sport was running Cross Country and track, where he received high achievements in racing.

Dana, a veteran US Navy 2nd Class Petty Officer, served as an aviation antisubmarine warfare technician, electronics technician, and aircrew member (1977-1982). He earned his associates degree in electrical mechanics from North Shore Community College in 1983. He studied electronics on an ongoing basis, earning various certificates.

Subsequent to the Navy and college, he worked as an independent radar technician in a radar design lab for fishing fleets in Gloucester, MA (1980-1984); as a senior electronic technician at Varian in Beverly, MA (1984 -1987), and followed that as a high tech sales engineer at Toshiba from 1989-1999. After relocating from New Hampshire to Florida in 1999, Dana dabbled in various jobs, and transitioned into technical construction, roofing, and restorations from 2002-2012.

Dana always had an appreciation and love for good music, and shared his favorites with great enthusiasm and influence. He loved researching and reading; always seeking knowledge on a range of topics, and was known to highlight his insights and philosophies with great detail. He is described by many and his circle of friends as positive, kind, gregarious, and funny; affectionately known for being long-winded in conversation, and generally a really nice guy. He was loved and will be missed by many, especially his daughter, Danielle (Navish) Lorton and her husband, Matt, of West Palm Beach, FL; siblings Dale Navish and his wife, Meg, of Bend, OR, Debbie (Navish) Huntley and her husband, Brian, of Bluffton, SC, Dawn (Navish) Kiritsy and her husband, Stephen, of Hilton Head Island, SC; six nieces and nephews; former wife and mother to his daughter, Clarice Navish of Danvers, MA; and former wife and friend, Kim O’Dea of West Palm Beach, FL.

Life has several mysteriesofwhich is death. The pain we feel is immeasurable. here is nothing to repair the suffering of seeing someone we love to leave. Everything seems to lose its meaning and become small in the face of such suffering
For those who stay, homesickness, sadness and non-conformity remain. Time will not erase pain and desire but, it will certainly alleviate that suffering.
It is necessary to pray for he to rest in peace and find the light to continue growing spiritually.

I lost the best person (my boyfriend, the my best friend, my confidant, the best part of me) ...

Dana, I was devastated when I heard that you passed away. You were my dear loving friend. We had a lot of laughs together and I enjoyed our bantering back-and-forth, teasing each other.
When we dated you were always the perfect gentleman, so kind and nice to me. You always had a way of making me feel special. I use to love hearing you laugh and tease me about being short. I’ll always remember you running track and doing the high jump back when we were in High School. You always strived for perfection.
I’m glad that we had some time to talk and share our life stories after being apart for so many years. I will always remember you especially when the song “Love the one you’re with” by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young comes on the radio. You will always be in my heart my honeybee. I miss and will love you always.

I'm shocked to read about Dana's passing. I lived on Pako Ave in Keene when I was in high school and the Navish family lived on the same street, next door to my girl friend at the time. I saw Dale, Debbie, and Dana outside often and I think Dale had a crush on my GFs younger sister. He would stop over sometimes and hang out.
Mostly I remember all three of the Navish kids as lively, energetic, and fun loving people. They seemed happy and to be always enjoying themselves. I'm very sorry to learn of Dana's passing. He was a good person and I will remember him as he was when we were young. I offer my heart felt condolences to his family.

Dana,
You are gone, and unfortunately there was no time for all our dreams to come true.
You will always be in my heart.
But I promise that I will honor your name and our relationship!
Rest in peace! I will always love you
Until one day love of my life!
Bjs, Rosa

I have known Dana since Symonds Elementary School in Keene and this news brings such sadness to me. Dana was always a kind soul and though our paths went in different directions after high school, I will always have fond memories of Dana and his beautiful smile. Sending prayers to those he left behind.
