He was born on June 10, 1948, in Keene, NH, to William and Ruth (Wirtanen) Wilder.
On April 15, 1967, Don married Barbara Hunt, and they spent the next 58 years by each other’s side. She was his rock, and he loved her dearly. Together they settled in Marlborough, NH, where they raised two sons, Dwayne and Jason. Don was proud of his sons’ accomplishments and was always there for them whenever they needed him.
A talented self-taught welder, Don’s career began at Rokon before moving on to The Melanson Company. Eventually, he pursued his dream of running his own welding business - Don’s Welding. Opening his own business was what he was meant to do. He spent countless hours out in his garage, dedicated to getting the work done. Over the years, he built a loyal customer base, and many of those customers became lifelong friends. His business remained successful until he was no longer able to work.
Don was a private person and found the most joy at home. His love for his dogs was unconditional and he cherished his time with Alfie, Killer, and K2 - who was by his side when he passed.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; his sons Dwayne and his partner Jean, Jason and his partner Karen; his brother John and his wife Joanne; his grandchildren Vanessa, Jessica, Brian, and Kimberly; his 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, David Wilder and Billy Wilder; and his sisters, Ann Hewett and Betsy Wilder.
At Don’s request, the funeral services will be private.
The family wishes to express they’re thanks to Home Healthcare Hospice & Community Services for keeping Don as comfortable as possible in his last remaining days.
