

She was born on February 2, 1926 in Germantown, PA the daughter of Joseph and Julia (Beck) Edson.
She graduated from Manhassett High School in Long Island, NY then moved to NYC where she worked before joining the Navy and being stationed in Hawaii.
In Hawaii she married and had her first child. Upon discharge, the family moved to Alabama where she worked for many years as an administrative assistant at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. In 1974, she moved to New Hampshire.
Mrs. Skipper was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Keene and of the United Methodist Women’s group. She also volunteered for a period of time at the then Harborside Nursing Home and was named volunteer of the year in 2001.
She also enjoyed gardening, walking and caring for her grandchildren.
Mrs. Skipper is survived by her son John N. Skipper of Keene; her daughter Leigh A. Pumilia of Spofford; two grandchildren Nicholas and Sisley Pumilia; and her brother Joseph Edson, Jr. of Appalachia, NY. Her brother Charles B. Edson and sister Barbara E. Terry are both deceased.
