

He was born in Brattleboro, VT, February 19, 1929 to Oscar and Luella (Clark Metcalf) Ericson. Daphne M. Renell became his loving stepmother on the death of his birth mother when Harry was 9 yrs. old. He grew up in Island Pond and Swanton, Vermont and graduated in the Class of 1947 from Swanton High School, where he played on the basketball and baseball teams.
He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1947-1951, and moved to Chesterfield, and worked as a linotype operator at the Brattleboro Reformer, Hildreth Press in Bristol, CT, and Book Press in Brattleboro. He became an electrician and more recently has been a landlord of apartments.
Harry could be described as a quiet man of deep faith, principled, peaceful, and proud of his second- generation Swedish heritage. His great loves were his family and his pets.
Hunting and fishing and sports have been some of his passions. He much enjoyed being a great N.Y. Yankee fan in a Red Sox family.
He leaves his wife, Audrey Chickering Ericson; sons Peter W. Ericson of Chesterfield, Dean L. Ericson and wife Pam of Keene; daughter Karen E. Guyette & husband Wayne of Spofford; His much-loved grandchildren: Patrick J. Ericson & wife Stephanie of Spofford, Amanda M. Ericson of West Lebanon, and Emily E. Bemis & her husband Thatcher of Keene; and 2 great-grandsons: Porter and Everett Ericson.
He leaves one brother, Philip M. and wife Evelyn of Oneonta, NY and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceasing him were two sons David G. Ericson and James L. Ericson, his brothers Arthur W. Ericson, Eugene H. Ericson, and sister Joyce M. Ericson and close cousins Edith Ericson Ives & husband Wes; Minnie Ericson Pollica & husband George, Evelyn Ericson Schmitt & husband Peter.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene on Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at Sturtevant Chapel, 15 Washington Avenue, Keene where Harry has been a long-time, faithful member on Tuesday Morning, December 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be private at Friedsam Cemetery in Chesterfield at the convenience of the family.
