He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, January 6, 1949, son of Golden Clark Wilt and Jane (Keesucker) Titman. He moved from Louisiana to Florida, West Virginia, Massachusetts, and finally settled down in New Hampshire. He attended school in Greenfield, Massachusetts followed by serving time in the United States Army.
He was a long time employee of Fred’s Mobile Homes Services as a driver and also was an owner of his own roofing and construction companies. He was a bassist in a band with some of his closest friends. His most favorite pastime was being on the boat, fishing and watching softball.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Martell) Wilt of 47 years come October of Winchester, daughter Shelley Wilt and wife Kristina of Roxbury, daughter Kathy Wilt and husband Alec Jutras of Winchester, son James Wilt Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Bunnell, Florida. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Zachary, Alysha, Casey, Patrick, Jasmine, Jordan, Alexandra, Justin, Matthew, Gocean, Nicholas, Cameron, and Brittany; his great-grandchildren, Yarie, Hayden, Summer, and Damien; close family friend Nicole Ladd-Kewer and her family along with his extended family in West Virginia.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at the United Church of Winchester, 99 Main St. Winchester, NH at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016 followed by a reception at the VFW Post 3968 of Winchester, 35 South Main St. Winchester, NH.
