I am so very sorry to hear of John's passing.   I had worked with John during the Fafard days.  There was a bog trip only a few months after I had started with Fafard where John and I were part of the group that attended the trip.   I learned quite a bit about horticulture just from talking with John.  From time to time, he would visit the office - at Christmas time he would bring the most beautiful poinsettia plants for each of us to take home.   John was always smiling and such a good soul - it was always a pleasure to see him.
