He loved attending and supporting local sporting events from Keene State College, and The Keene Swamp Bats. He was a fan and volunteer in the Swamp Bats initial season. Some of his fondest memories were from when he was selected to throw out the first pitch before a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, and also when he traveled to Phoenix to see his nephew Bernard Hebert and enjoy some Spring baseball. He enjoyed watching his grand nieces and grand nephews play sports at Keene High School.
Julian worked his entire career at the National Grange Insurance Company on West St in Keene. He retired in 1997.
He was known for keeping in touch with his family and many pen pals, whether it be by telephone or mail. He wrote about many events via letters, photographs and articles that he shared through the years.
