Linda Ann Skiffington, age 67, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on November 18, 2025, after a long and valiant battle with cancer, surrounded by her large, loving, and devoted family.
Born on March 7, 1958, to the late Rita (Beauregard) and Charles Way, Linda grew up in New Hampshire and graduated from Marlborough High School in 1976, proudly cheering on the sidelines as a member of the school’s cheerleading squad. She carried that same spirit of enthusiasm, determination, and joy throughout her life.
In 1974, Linda’s world changed forever when she met the love of her life, Michael “Mike” Skiffington. With a mixture of charm, confidence, and a twinkle of mischief, she asked him for a ride on his motorcycle - a moment that set the course of a lifetime. That same year, on August 29, 1974, they were married, beginning a 51-year journey of laughter, devotion, and partnership. Together, they built a home filled with love and raised two children, Laurie and Jeremy (“Jerry”), nurturing a family rooted in joy, adventure, and steadfast love.
After high school, Linda embarked on a career at ARCO and FM Label (later Timken), where she worked for an impressive 34 years. Even after retiring in 2023, she continued working part-time until her illness required her to step back. Over those decades, she formed friendships with treasured colleagues who shared in her warmth, humor, and unwavering commitment.
Linda approached life with curiosity and joy, filling each day with energy and care. She rode horses with grace, breathed new life into old furniture, nurtured the outdoors and roamed flea markets and thrift shops in search of hidden treasures. Her hands, patient and skilled, wove love into quilts for each of her grandchildren. Though she was able to complete only one quilt for her great-grandchildren, it carries the same warmth, laughter, and devotion she poured into every stitch - a quiet, lasting hug from a woman who gave her heart freely.
Known for her sometimes-off-color sense of humor, her welcoming presence, and her adventurous spirit, Linda will be remembered most for her boundless love for family -especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her courageous fight against cancer was a testament to her determination to stay present with them, and she fulfilled her heartfelt wish to see her youngest great-grandchild, Lincoln, celebrate his first birthday.
Throughout her life, Linda made herself available whenever she was asked, needed, or simply “just because.” Her generosity of heart and spirit touched everyone around her, leaving a lasting impression of kindness, laughter, and love.
Besides her husband, Mike, Linda is survived by her daughter: Laurie (Donald) Laporte of Swanzey, NH; son: Jeremy (Alia) Skiffington of Keene, NH; two brothers: Mark (Annmarie) Way and Dana Way; nephew: Colby Way; eleven grandchildren: Tayla (Ryan) McAlpine of Winchester, NH, Ryan Rivers, Joey Rivers, and Madison Merrill all of Swanzey, NH, Leora (Jared) Maylin of Marlborough, NH, and Leaman, Lucius, Laynee, Levi, Leyton, and Alex Skiffington of Keene, NH. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Arya, Aiden, and Noah McAlpine of Winchester, NH, and Lincoln Maylin of Marlborough, NH.
In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her nephew Dylan Way.
An angel now watches over all who knew and loved Linda, and whom she loved so deeply, her spirit continuing to surround them with the same warmth, joy, and love she so generously shared in life.
