She was born on June 6, 1942 in Keene, NH, the daughter of the late Stanley and Marion (Bennett) Pickering. She attended area schools and graduated from Keene High School.
On December 24, 1966, Louise married the love of her life, Floyd W. Vickery in Keene, NH. They moved to upstate New York and Louise thrived as homemaker and loving mother.
Louise had a very strong faith and was an extremely devoted member of the Greater Victory Fellowship Church in New York. She enjoyed canning, baking, and cooking. You always knew you were in for a treat when she made her famous spaghetti and meatballs. Louise found the most joy caring for her family. She loved being a mother and was affectionately called “Mom” by all of the neighborhood kids. Louise had a touch of sass, but was the sweetest lady you could ever know. She was strong willed and always willing to lend a hand to others.
Louise leaves behind her daughter: Stephanie Fontaine and her husband Greg of Keene, NH; son: Floyd "Skip" Vickery and his wife Kelly of New Port Richey, FL; grandchildren: Lindsay Vickery, Kasey Vickery, and Gregory Fontaine and his wife Vanessa; great-grandchildren: Hayden, Taylynn, Finnegan, and Esmeralda; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
She was predeceased by her husband: Floyd Willard Vickery; infant daughter: Debra Jean Vickery; grandson: Scott Fontaine; and siblings: Edward, Arthur, and Shirley.
A graveside service will be held with family at Hillside Memorial Cemetery in Central Square, NY.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be made in Louise Mae Vickery's name to the Greater Victory Fellowship Church, 2056 County Route 2, Orwell, NY 13426 (www.GreaterVictoryFellowship.org).
