
He was born in Malden, MA on May 17, 1935, the son of Sumner Augustus and Florence (Trask) Tilton. He was raised by his mother and step-father, Walter Marchand. He grew up in Rochester, NH and graduated from Rochester Highschool. He went on to graduate from Bachelor’s degree from KSC and his ABD from Penn State.
Mr. Tilton taught Industrial Arts for many years at Monadnock Regional High School and also taught for a period of time at Keene State College.
He is survived by his children Benjamin Tilton of Swanzey, Joni Goodwin of Aspen, CO, Debbie Nininger, also of Aspen, CO, John Tilton of Manchester, Kristan Tilton of Troy, Scott Tilton of Keene and Kevin Tilton, also of Keene; and his grandchildren Matthew Goodwin, Jedidiah Goodwin, Trevor Nininger, Sarah Nininger, Grace Tilton, Maxton Tilton and Paisley Chamberlain; and his brother Russell Marchand of Attleboro, MA.
A graveside service for Mr. Tilton will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 PM at the Mountain View Cemetery, Rt. 32, Swanzey, NH.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Mr. Norman Tilton’s name to “Meals-On-Wheels”, 312 Marlboro St., Keene, NH 03431.
