

He was born on March 30, 1947, in Nashua, the son of Philip and Cecile (Gagnon) Kirkpatrick. He graduated from Nashua High School and the University of New Hampshire. He went on to receive his Masters in Education from the University of Wisconsin.
Mr. Kirkpatrick taught Latin in the Keene School District for over 32 years and wrote many textbooks and translations that were published.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Keene. He was also a member of the National Education Association.
Mr. Kirkpatrick enjoyed reading and working on jigsaw puzzles.
He is survived by his son Tobyn Kirkpatrick of Madison, WI; his daughter Beth Truman, and her husband Joe, of Keene; three grandchildren Sophia Truman, Christopher Truman and Taylor Panek of Keene; his brothers Bruce Kirkpatrick of Merrimack, NH and Gerald Kirkpatrick of Manchester, NH.
Services for Mr. Kirkpatrick will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014, 11:00 AM at the United Church of Christ, 23 Central Square in Keene. Calling hours will be held on Sunday afternoon, May 18, 2104, from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. (www.fletcherfuneralhome.com)
