Raymond W. "Bill" Miner, III of 17 Andover St Keene, peacefully passed away at his home after a short period of declining health on December 3, 2025. He was 68. He kept his sense of humor and that devilish twinkle in his eye to the end.
His parents, Dorothy (Harrison) and Raymond W. Miner, Jr., welcomed their son into the world on March 1, 1957, in Keene, NH. He resided in Keene until 1966 when he moved with his family to Wilmington DE. He graduated from the former Charles W. Bush School in 1978 and started work at various sheltered workshops in Delaware. After returning to Keene in 2007, he attended both the New Hope New Horizons and the Community Resources for Justice Day Programs in Keene.
Bill was a very sociable guy. Everyone he met was a new friend. He loved going for rides in the car, listening to music, bowling and dancing and was especially fond of Dunkin’s coffee & donuts. Well-mannered to a fault, charming, funny, sly & cagey, and at times immovable: the most stubborn man on earth. He was loved for all his attributes and foibles.
Since his move back to New Hampshire in 2007, he has been looked after by the most amazing, kind-hearted (and patient) caregivers known to man and a by his large and ever-expanding circle of friends. The love, care and compassion he received from them all made the difference for him in leading a happy and full life. His family will be forever grateful for their friendship and efforts in making Bill’s life both robust and safe.
He will be greatly missed by many, especially his longtime caregivers led by Tia Tallman, dear friends Gail Cushing and family, his brother, Philip H. Miner and his wife Kathryn of Harrisville, NH, his nieces and nephews, Jonathan C. Miner and his wife Jillian of Harrisville, Anna E. Ritchie and her husband Andrew of Jaffrey, NH, Emily R. Martin and her husband Nathan of Cranston, RI, Amy B. Miner of Hendersonville, TN; and five grandnieces and grandnephews. His parents and a brother Leonard C. Miner predeceased him.
An event to honor Bill’s life is being planned and will be announced later. Burial will be private.
For those who wish, donations may be made in Mr. Miner’s memory to Community Resources for Justice, Community Strategies, Keene Activity Fund, 355 Boylston St, Boston MA 02116.
