Rita Eleanor Talbot

She was born on September 29th 1927 in New Britain CT. She was the daughter of Alfred and Clara Talbot. She grew up in New Britain before moving to Troy, NH with her family during the mid-1940s.

She married Marcel Marrotte from Troy in 1946. They had three children: Dennis Marrotte from Tennessee, Marcelle Papapietro and her husband James from Keene and Michelle Hayward and her husband Mark from Westmoreland.

While living in New Hampshire she worked at the Troy Mills, East Hill Farm and Peterborough Ball Bearings. In 1972, she moved to Florida and worked as an LNA. In 2005, she moved back to New Hampshire to be closer to her family.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, gardening and spending time with her family.

Ms. Talbot is also survived by eight grandchildren: Mark Hayward Jr., Jeremiah Hayward, Corinne Stabler, Seth Stabler, Heather Henn, Sara Young, Matthew Marrotte and Elizabeth Marrotte along with 13 great grandchildren. Ms. Talbot has one surviving sister Theresa LaPorte plus many nieces and nephews. Her sister Shirley Talbot and brothers: Ray, Oral, Norman, Fred and her ex-husband, Marcel Marrotte, died earlier.

Ms. Talbot’s family wishes to thank the wonderful staff and volunteers at Maplewood Nursing Home for their love and acts of kindness during the three years Rita called Maplewood her home.

A grave side service will be announced at a later date. Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH is assisting with the arrangements.
