Roger W. Conway

Roger was born September 26, 1923 in Keene NH, the son of Maurice C. and Nellie May (Beaman) Conway. He was educated in the Winchester Schools, graduating from Thayer High School in 1942. He lived his early years in Winchester, moved to Keene in the middle 40’s and had been a resident of Swanzey since 1967.

He was employed by A.C. Lawrence Leather Co in Winchester for 27 years, worked 6 years at Chase’s Office Products and was in partnership at Allan Kendall’s Office Specialists for 7 years in Keene.

He was treasurer for the Town of Swanzey from 1984 to 2007 and Treasurer for Cheshire County for 12 years. Past Treasurer and member of the board of directors of Home Health and past Treasurer of the Mount Caesar Library. He was active in the NH Credit Union League for a number of years, having served on the Board of Directors and as President.

He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Royea and her husband Griff of Westmoreland and Diane Hitchcock and her husband Kenny of Keene. A son, Kevin Conway and his wife Kim of CT. A grandson, James Royea and his wife Karen and children Emily and Matthew of Verona WI. A granddaughter, Jennifer Ellison and her husband Morgan and daughter Ava of Westmoreland. Three stepsons, Gordon Kendall of Troy, Richard Kendall of Swanzey and Robert Kendall of Winchester. Also a niece and a nephew.

He was predeceased by a brother, Arnold Conway of Swanzey in October of 2007.

Services are Thursday at 1 PM at Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene NH.

Burial will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester, NH at the convenience of the family.
