Roger D. Desjardins 86, of Rolling Hills Drive, Hinsdale, NH and a former 25 year resident of Jaffrey, NH, died Thursday, October 27, 2011, at the Applewood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Winchester, NH.
He was born in Marlborough, NH, February 27, 1925, the son of Alfred and Rose Desjardins. He grew up in Marlborough and was a graduate of Marlborough High School.
Mr. Desjardins was an Army veteran serving during World War II. He re-enlisted in the Army and served following the Korean Conflict.
For ten years, Mr. Desjardins worked in maintenance at the Cheshire Tire in Keene. He enjoyed playing the guitar and for many years, provided guitar lessons to many. He also enjoyed photography, including photographing stone arch bridges.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rowena M. (Collins) Desjardins of Hinsdale, a daughter, Donna McLean of Florida, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a brother, Philip Desjardin of Connecticut.
Funeral services and burial in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH, will be private.
