Born in Keene on November 17, 1980, he was the son of the late Richard D. Duhaime and Sherrie (Ball) Castle.
Ryan leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and a sharp wit that brought light and laughter to all who knew him.
With his signature dry humor, expressive eyebrows, and unforgettable funny faces, Ryan had a gift for making people laugh—often without saying much. Beneath his calm and often stoic exterior was a deeply compassionate soul. He gave of himself freely, sometimes more than he had to give, always striving to support those he cared about in both big and small ways.
A proud and devoted member of Narcotics Anonymous, Ryan found strength, healing, and hope in a community that truly understood him. The fellowship reminded him that kindness toward oneself is just as important as kindness toward others. His courage in facing addiction and his dedication to living with honesty and grace inspired many walking the path of recovery.
Among the greatest joys of Ryan’s life was his loyal companion, Rusty—his beloved dog. Together, they were a familiar and cherished pair around Keene, often seen exploring trails and walking for miles, simply enjoying each other’s quiet company. Their bond was a testament not only to Ryan’s deep capacity for love and loyalty, but also to his faithful walk with the Lord. His spiritual journey was one of grace and redemption, and he carried his love for God quietly yet powerfully in the way he lived each day.
Ryan also found immense joy in spending time with his niece and nephews—letting them clamber over him like a jungle gym, taking them on little adventures, and sharing in moments of laughter and play. His calm presence, dry humor, and big heart made him a favorite among them.
He is survived by his daughter, Adalynn Grace; his mother, Sherrie Castle; his siblings, Jennifer, Kimberly, Carol, Rick, and Annette; his treasured nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and dear friends. Ryan’s presence—gentle, steady, and kind—will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Though Ryan’s earthly journey has come to an end, he now walks in peace with the Lord he loved so dearly. May his memory continue to shine as a quiet and enduring reminder of hope, redemption, and unconditional love.
The family will honor his memory privately.
