

He was born in Bridgeport, CT on October 5, 1938, the son of Richard C. and Vavica (Middlebrook) Lane. He grew up in Newtown CT and attended area schools.
Mr. Lane served in the US Marine Corp for over ten years including time served in Korea. He was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged in 1963.
After his military service, he worked in construction, drove truck, was a landlord and worked in maintenance for a local storage facility.
He was a past member of the American Legion, Orange, MA Post 172 and the VFW Daly-Solomon Post in Turners Falls, MA. He was also a bugler for the Sandy Hook Fife & Drum Corp.
Mr. Lane enjoyed dealing in antiques. He liked going to yard sales and flea markets. He also enjoyed auctioneering.
Annually, Mr. Lane would play Santa Claus for family events and various club holiday parties as well. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a colorful and giving man.
Mr. Lane is survived by his daughters Michele Hall, and husband Don, of Wardsboro, VT, Katrinia Lane of Coolidge, AZ; a son Michael Lane of TX; his long-time companion Ella Miller of Troy and her daughter Jessie Quigley, and husband Brian, of Troy; two brothers Stewart Lane of NC and Sully Lane of White Mountain; one sister Ediess Mazarek of ME; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held for Mr. Lane on Wednesday, April 4th, 2012, 11:00 AM at Mountain View Cemetery in Troy. Family and friends are invited.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mr. Thomas M. Lane’s name to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave. Suite #2, Norwood, MA 02062.
