In 2004, Brandon became the loving partner and husband of Shonda Jennings.
Brandon was a Director of Information Technology, most recently working at Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star for 4 years and the National Society of Hispanic MBAs for the previous 9 years. Brandon was proud of his supporting role in such impactful charitable organizations and that his work helped children realize their potential and empowered Hispanic professionals. He was constantly aware that his contributions made him a positive role model for those around him.
Brandon is survived by his wife Shonda; daughter Aiden; sons Zain and Trevor; parents Fraser and Mary Jennings and LouAnn and Jim Stanley; and siblings Travis, Adam, Joshua, and Seth. Brandon is also survived by his grandmother and multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his Gramps.
From birth, Brandon was a sweet child who adored his younger brother. As the son of an Air Force officer, he moved seven times throughout his childhood. Brandon’s Gran was a significant part of this time in his life. As an adult, Brandon’s artistic and creative talents shined, and his paintings, drawings, and the results of his tinkering can be seen throughout his home and the homes of his friends and family.
Brandon was a creator and a maker. He liked figuring out how things work and taught himself how to fix everything from vacuum cleaners to computers. He was always willing to help family and friends on home projects and spent his spare time repairing, updating, and supplying computers for family members, friends, and those less fortunate. Brandon had everything in his garage you can imagine and yet still knew how to find everything down to an individual drill bit. He was never intimidated by any project, big or small. He had the determination to figure things out and not hesitate to jump right in.
Brandon was extremely active and impactful in his community. He coached i9 Sports kids co-ed soccer for 4 seasons. He also fixed bikes for the children of those living in a local battered women’s shelter; acquired, repaired, and built furniture for their families; and offered his skills to repair and provide working computers for the facility.
Brandon was a fantastic cook and his love of cooking was kindled while serving as the youngest-ever manager of several branches of the Good Eats Grill – so young that he could not order alcohol from distributors for the restaurant! Brandon would eagerly volunteer to cater all kinds of events for the pleasure of feeding and entertaining those he cared about. He was always the one to carve the turkey at Thanksgiving. He even used what he had during the Texas freeze of 2021 to make a stew for all of those camping out in his office without power in their homes.
Brandon had absolute love for his family, and had many wonderful memories with his children, parents, and siblings. He never missed a teachable moment with his kids: from cooking to changing the car brakes. Most of all, he was a supportive and avid listener and offered sound, understandable advice to his children. Brandon was surrounded by loving family no matter where life took him, and will be missed by everyone who knew him!
A celebration of life service, officiated by Brandon’s godparents, will be held on March 18 at 1:00 at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W Park Blvd, Plano, TX 75093. Attendees are welcome to dress in whatever makes them most comfortable.
Brandon’s memory would best be honored by a donation in his name to any Multiple Sclerosis charity and for you to consider registering as an organ donor.
