Charlotte Rose Sampe was called home to heaven by faith in her Savior Jesus Christ on June 8, 2025, at the age of 94. Baptized into Christ Jesus and joined to him in his death and resurrection, her body now rests in peace and awaits the resurrection of all flesh on the Day of Christ.
Born on March 5, 1931, to Herbert and Esther Sampe, Charlotte was blessed with a creative spirit and a deep trust in her Lord. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and by her dear husband, Raymond Brussock.
Charlotte graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a degree in interior design. She began her career at Marshall Field’s in Chicago, where her artistic talent and attention to detail were admired by many. She later opened her own interior design business, where she brought beauty and thoughtful design to the lives and homes of countless clients.
Beyond her professional career, Charlotte found great fulfillment in her volunteer work as a curator for the Wisconsin Synod Historical Society at Salem Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI. She took great care in preserving and presenting the rich history of the church she loved. Her commitment to this work reflected her deep appreciation for heritage, tradition, and the lasting impact of the gospel throughout generations.
Charlotte was a devoted member of St. James Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, where she worshiped faithfully for many years and enjoyed many lifelong and eternal friendships. In her later years, she became a beloved member of Christ Alone Lutheran Church in Keller, TX, where she continued to live out her faith with humility, joy, and love for her Savior and fellow believers.
She is survived by her brother Peter (Cynthia) Sampe; her nieces Lisa Lyn (Yevgeny) Nyden and Lara Beth (Paul) Seager; and their families. Charlotte was a devoted aunt who cherished her nieces and showed her love for them in many ways—giving Lisa sewing lessons and encouraging her academic growth, and faithfully driving Lara Beth to countless music practices and performances. Her investment in their lives left a lasting legacy of love and support.
A Christian burial service graveside will be held at Lincoln Memorial (formerly Wanderer’s Rest) in Milwaukee, WI at a later date.
Memorials in honor of Charlotte may be given to Christ Alone Lutheran Church at www.christalone.com or sent to 1560 E. Southlake Blvd., Southlake, TX 76092.
