Dolores’ parents, Jesus and Josefa Martinez, now deceased, enrolled Dolores at a young age into the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, TX. Dolores graduated, married, and had two boys; Capt. Roy Petty USN (Ret.), who preceded her in death last year, and her youngest son, Mark, who cared for her until her last day.
Like her parents, Dolores was a diligent worker. She worked and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 40 plus years of service. Dolores and her husband, Johnny Cordova, who has preceded her in death, were members of the local deaf community. They both enjoyed many fond memories with their church friends, especially, Connie Martin. Dolores was an avid animal lover and also left behind her faithful Chihuahua, Bebe.
Dolores is survived by her son; R Mark Petty, his wife Veronica, and their four children; Rebecca James, husband, Kevin; M Major Petty, San Diego, CA; Misty, and Liv Petty, of Fort Worth, TX.
She is also survived by her sister, Josephine Ayala, daughter in law Donna Petty, grandchildren, Collin and Erin Petty; and two great-granddaughters, Kirra and Pinley James.
A visitation for Dolores will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Keller's Old Town Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 220 Keller Parkway, Keller, TX 76248.
A funeral service will occur Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 220 Keller Parkway, Keller, TX 76248.
A committal service will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, Texas 76034.
