

He was born in Malden, MA and grew up in Concord, NH.
A childhood introduction to Charles Lindbergh sparked an interest in planes that spanned his lifetime.
He enlisted out of high school in the Army Air Corp and became an aircraft mechanic during the Korean Conflict.
After an honorable discharge, he enrolled in trade school to learn drafting and advertising.
He relocated to Texas, eventually settling in the Dallas area to raise his children. Don worked as a draftsman with Braniff Airlines, Space Corporation, Texas Instruments and Vought Aeronautics and became a successful draftsman.
After retiring and the loss of his wife he moved to Houston, where he unexpectedly met and married his beloved wife, Patty. They had a grand time travelling the world; their days filled with love and Don’s unmistakable laughter. He never missed a chance to create some fun or celebrate their love.
He used his artistic talents to paint and build the most extraordinary things. Many people were blessed with one of his hand-crafted clocks, planes, or paintings. His greatest joy through the end of his life was sharing the things he loved with others.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Loyce and Betty, his son Terry and stepson Randy.
His memory will continue to live in his son Larry, wife Lita and their children- Matt, wife Kristine; Scott; Deanna, husband Nick; and Deborah as well as his daughter-in-law Debbie and granddaughter Angela, husband Charles; and the 5 stepchildren, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren that blessed his life.
The committal shelter service will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025, at 9:15 AM.
