
Dee Dee graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1966 and remained a proud Palo Duro Don throughout her life. During her senior year, she was a cheerleader and maintained close friendships with many of her fellow Dons for decades to come. After high school, Dee Dee attended Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, where she earned a degree in recreation. She served as secretary of her freshman class, was honored as a Redbud Princess during her freshman and sophomore years, and was an active member of the Chaparrals Literary Social Club.
Dee Dee later moved to Richmond, Virginia, where she earned her master’s degree in therapeutic recreation and worked as a therapeutic recreation consultant for the State of Virginia.
After returning to Texas, she eventually settled in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, where she met her husband, John Morgan. They married in June 1988.
Throughout her career, Dee Dee dedicated herself to helping others. She worked for Tarrant County as a drug and alcohol counselor, probation officer, and court officer, touching countless lives with her compassion, strength, and encouragement.
Dee Dee was fiercely independent, adventurous, and full of life. Her warmth, leadership, and outgoing personality made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had an incredible ability to make friends wherever she went.
After retirement, she traveled extensively around the world, often taking solo yoga trips that perfectly matched her adventurous spirit. She would always return home with wonderful stories, unforgettable memories, and a new circle of friends gathered along the way.
She loved staying active and creative through crafting and scrapbooking, preserving cherished memories with care and love. Dee Dee was active and greatly enjoyed yoga, Nia, line dancing, and Zumba classes. Dee Dee also had a lifelong passion for animals. Over the years, she adored her schnauzers and Italian greyhounds, as well as her beloved cats, Faith and Baby Morgan, whom she lovingly bottle-fed as kittens. Dee Dee and John were devoted foster parents to countless kittens through their work with Animal Advocates of North Texas, helping many animals find loving forever homes.
Dee Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Vera Hill; her brothers, Donald Hustead and Ronald Hill; and her brother-in-law, Bobby Morford.
She is survived by her husband, John Morgan; her stepson, Nathan Morgan and wife Kimberly; and her cherished grandchildren, Kenny and Layla. She is also survived by her sisters, Janet Morford and Christee Anderson and husband Doyle; her half-sisters, Pat Blount and husband Neal, and Mary Collins and husband Bobby; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Dee Dee will be remembered for her adventurous heart, loving spirit, deep compassion for others and animals, and the joy she brought into every room she entered. Her kindness, independence, and vibrant personality left a lasting impact on all who knew and loved her.
