Myrle Morin, born on April 13, 1925, in Blair, Oklahoma, joyfully danced into the arms of the Lord on February 12, 2024. She was the daughter of Luther Carroll Cann and Ella Mamie Carlisle Cann. Growing up in Lawton, Oklahoma, Myrle showcased her talents early on as a High School State Champion Baton Twirler. Her love for life extended to playing softball, dancing and other activities that filled her heart with delight. When she was only 16 and he was 17, she married the love of her life Charles Morin, her forever dance partner. They eloped to Ochelata, Oklahoma, on December 4, 1941, marking the beginning of a love story that spanned nearly 70 years, filled with adoration, laughter, and adventures. They never held back from showing their outward affection for each other, setting an example for marriages for generations to come. Together, they raised four wonderful children, creating a legacy of love that will forever resonate. Next to her love for the Lord, her family was the most important part of her life.
As the proud wife of an Army Warrant Officer, Myrle and Charles embarked on a life of adventure, living in countries such as Japan and Germany. Following his 20 years of military service, they set their roots in Texas and ventured into various businesses, including 30 years of home construction. Myrle was known for her social nature, competitive spirit, support of veterans, and active participation in Bridge Clubs. Her avid commitment to the Republican Party was evident through her leadership as the President of the Hood County Women’s Republican Party.
Myrle's deep faith was a guiding force in her life. Her steadfast and vibrant love for the Lord was contagious and paved the way for her family to carry on her faith in Christ. She devoted considerable time and energy to the church. Her passion for sharing the Word took her on mission trips to numerous countries, spreading the teachings of Christ and impacting lives along the way.
Preceding Myrle in death were her parents, three brothers, her beloved husband Charles, and her eldest son, Ron Charles Morin. She is survived by daughter Anita Sue Armstrong (Ronnie), son Rick Morin (Beverly), daughter Peggy Krause (Paul), and daughter-in-law Sandy Morin.
