Mary Lou, of Hurst, Texas, passed away surrounded by family on March 10th in Hurst, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend to all who knew and loved her. She was born on December 6, 1952, in Slaton, Texas, to Luz Quintero and Amelia Aguirre Ordas. Mary Lou lived a life defined by dedication, perseverance, and deep love for her family. For 26 years, she worked at Texas Instruments as a Quality Control Inspector, where she was known for her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to doing things the right way. After retiring from Texas Instruments, she continued to stay active and engaged, working in retail for another 25 years. Her willingness to keep working and connecting with people reflected her independent spirit and love of staying involved in the world around her.
Beyond her career, she was a devoted mother and family member who gave endlessly of her time, love, and guidance. She had a compassionate heart and a quiet strength that carried her through life’s challenges while always putting the people she loved first.
She also found joy in life’s simple pleasures- listening to Tejano music, spending time at the beach, sitting on her patio while enjoying her love of plants, watching Spanish soap operas “novelas”, and relaxing with her beloved pets, her cat Cici and her dog Tanner. She enjoyed her time with her family and attending all the celebrations of birthdays and holidays.
Those who knew her will remember her warmth, her resilience, and the steady presence she brought to the lives around her. She created a legacy of hard work, dignity, and love that will live on through her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the many years, memories, and lessons she gave us. Her love and influence will remain with us always.
