William Page Kahler was born on February 5th, 1955, to Ima Joyce and Richard Kahler, at an ammunition base in California. His early years were spent in the company of his brothers, Rick and Keith Kahler, his long time best friends. As a family, they moved for Col. Richard Kahler’s assignments in the Air Force across the country, which Page later joined earning the rank of Captain. He received numerous military awards before being honorably discharged to continue his career in electrical engineering.
Page was a brilliant individual, curious and analytical, with a B.S. in Engineering from Virginia Tech and an M.A. in project management for space systems. He saved a satellite once! He was also extremely talented; a licensed pilot for single engine aircraft and hot air balloons, a certified paramedic and firefighter, and a licensed HAM Radio operator (which was his favorite hobby). For over 23 years, Page worked as an engineer and project manager for various cellular phone companies, where he managed projects across multiple carriers, and built cellular networks in places such as Grand Central Station and the US Capitol.
Page’s ultimate pride and joy was his family – his wife Debbie, his two daughters Shelley and Kirsten (and his two bonus sons-in-law), his grandson Lucien, and the golden retrievers that joined their adventures over the years. They supported his hobbies, such as HAM radio, Certified Storm Spotting, photography, hunting and pistol shooting, vacationing (both Debbie and Page retired and started visiting the national parks in their RV), stargazing, hot air ballooning, computers, and anything else that sparked his imagination.
It’s hard to cram a whole life of joy, humor, compassion, and love into a few short paragraphs like these. Page was always our rock – a father, a husband, a brother, a son, a coworker, a member of North East Tarrant Amateur Radio Club, a co-lead of the City of Keller Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Radio Team, a pilot, a search & rescue paramedic, a vocalist, a man of a million laughs and endless support – and he will be missed with holes in our hearts the size of a galaxy.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Keller’s Old Town Funeral Home (220 Keller Parkway, Keller, TX). The family requests donations in Page’s memory to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas in lieu of flowers.
