

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Anne Louise Young announce her passing on January 24, 2024, just shy of her 92nd birthday. Anne was born in Edmonton in 1932. Anne was a quiet woman, who lived her beliefs.
Her life was one of service. Even in her later years Anne was always looking to be helpful to those around her. She began her life of service when she entered nursing after finishing high school. It was during her time as a nurse that she met the man who was to become her husband. According to him, while she held his head before his appendectomy. Anne and Dale were married in 1955 and spent many years raising their family of six.
Despite being busy raising her passel of children, Anne was also very involved in her community. She worked hard in her church and for nonprofit groups, such as Lake Country Health, the Girl Guides, the OAP, and the local soccer teams. Anne was a founding member of Lake Country Health Planning Society. Anne was very involved in the formation of the local Meals to Wheels program, the volunteer driver program, the Prime-Time Socialization program, advocating for a physician’s office and an ambulance station in the community of Lake Country.
Anne was predeceased by her husband, Dale, and her children David and Shelley. Anne is survived by her children, Lynette Young (Edmonton), Bonny Taylor (Lake Country), Chris Young (Calgary), and Robyn McLaughlan (Calgary), multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Earl Wilkerson and sister, Phyllis Clutton.
A memorial service will be held March 30th at First Memorial in Kelowna.
