

Mrs. Beverly Ann Therrien was an energetic woman, honest and stuck in her ways. She was trustworthy and you could always count on her to listen and understand. Her advice was always filled with love even if it was harsh at times. She was tough-minded with the kind of “stick to it” attitude that earned the respect of all who knew her. She was also a woman who was meticulous, carefully disciplined, and orderly in virtually everything she undertook. Realistic about life, she was always at the ready, prepared to take on responsibility and open her door to you.
Bev was born on January 17, 1958 at Prince George General Hospital in Prince George, British Columbia. She was the daughter of John Pozdnikoff and Margret Pozdnikoff. Bev grew up in Prince George, British Columbia.
Bev was raised with 8 siblings. She had four brothers, Ken, Shane, Gerald, Ted and four sisters, Dawn, Cathy, Kim and Starr. Bev was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young girl, Bev had a number of interests. She was curious about the world around her and was often eager to explore it. Bev was an active child who took part in gymnastics, figure skating and other various childhood games. Bev was extremely artistic as she and her siblings were always helping their mother with various arts and crafts at the school that their mother was involved with. However, to Bev, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with her friends.
Always considered a “good” friend to those she knew, Bev enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. Bev and her family moved numerous times for business, as a result of this Bev had an abundance of friends all over Canada.
Bev worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Bev was blessed with four children, Tim, Delta, Wendy and April. Another blessing for Bev was the gift of seven grandchildren, Tayo, Mackenzie, Lucas, Kaius, Madison, Connor, and Jaxon.
Fortunately, Bev enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Bev worked diligently and did her best to succeed. Her primary occupation was wife, mother and friend. She had many odd jobs over the years in customer service, hairdressing, and volunteering her knowledge of arts and crafts. Bev always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Bev enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were calligraphy, woodburning, glass engraving, cake decorating, floral arrangements, drawing, and organzing events. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Bev was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she had the chance to do so. Although Bev did not have a favorite sport she did watch hockey games and football games to please her husband.
Though she never set out to gain individual recognition, Bev was given accolades for her many and varied accomplishments throughout her life. Some of her most prestigious awards were having her children and grandbabies. Bev was a drill sergeant of the Therrien squadron. Bev saw action for over 20 years in the Therrien/LaJambe conflicts. Through her hard work, she achieved the rank of bravest mother. She received several awards recognizing her for her service, including a strong and independent family.
Bev enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations were Niagra Falls, Victoria and a trip with her best buddy Imelda to Hawaii.
Bev was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of her favorites was Corky a lhaso Apso and Attitude a Pursian Cat.
Bev passed away on November 17, 2009 at Central Okanagan Hospice, Kelowna, British Columbia. Bev fought a brave battle against cancer. She is survived by her father John, mother in-law Annette, husband Hector, her children Tim (Amy), Delta (Bob), Wendy, April (Evan), her brothers and sisters, Ken, Gerald (Colleen), Shane, Ted, Dawn, Cathy (Ed), Kim (Ted), and Starr (Eddie), her brothers and sisters in-laws, Roland (Hazel), Felix (Toni), Clem (Marilyn), Janice, Lise (Robert) and numerous friends. Service was held at Valleyview Funeral Home in Kelowna, British Columbia.
Simply stated, Bev was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Bev leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Mrs. Beverly Ann Therrien.
