1946 – 2018
David Deck passed peacefully on April 13, 2018 at his home in Kelowna surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Terry; and his daughters Kelly (Mark) and Jamie (Miguel), as well as three beautiful grandchildren, Isalyn, Scarlett and Luciana. David is also survived by his siblings, Mervin (Jie Feng), Gordon (Phoebe), Darrell (Margaret Mary) and Jim (Laura) and many nieces and nephews.
A creative and talented, woodworker, artist and photographer in his spare time; David’s career in the engineering technical field had him involved in large construction projects, like the Kelowna and Vernon General Hospitals and the Richmond Olympic Skating Oval. His skills were in demand and he was able to take on consulting projects that he enjoyed.
A love of travel had David and Terry visit many countries around the world. This allowed him to indulge in his love of getting that perfect photo, often from a unique angle. As an artist he painted watercolours and later got into silk painting.
In later years David and Terry did most of their travel across North America in their motorhome. David said the motorhome was the best vehicle he ever drove.
.
David grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan and loved hockey, although golf became his sport of choice. He was a member of The Harvest Golf Club and Nanaimo Golf Club.
