Dora McBride

Dora Elizabeth (May) McBride (née Mather) passed away on March 25th, 2023, in Kelowna, BC after a vibrant life of over 100 years. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Dora also lived in the lower mainland of B.C. for many years before settling in Kelowna for her final years.

Dora was known by those close to her for her kind heart, joie de vivre, and especially for her chocolate cake and apple pie.

Dora was predeceased by her husband Mick McBride, parents Ann and Jack Mather, brothers Dick, Jack and Maurice and daughter Carol Reilly. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dora is survived by son Richard Swanson (Janet), daughter Wendy Flegel (Rick), son-in-law Don Reilly (Monika) and grandchildren Eric Swanson (Johanna), Kathryn Pascuzzo (Nick), Scott Reilly (Nicole), Melani Francescutti, Brandi Thornton, and Jodi Flegel (Tyler) and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family extends a special thanks to friend, Linda Bell and the staff at the Village at Mill Creek for their compassionate care over the years and also to the Kelowna Hospice House.
