(November 1, 1946-January 25, 2025)
We have lost a good man who had compassion, love and humour for all.
Doug was born in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba and was the middle of 5 sons born to Mary and Wilfred Richardson. Doug loved to tell stories about the trouble they caused and mischief they got into growing up on the farm.
He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never hesitated to let them or others know.
Doug spent most of his career in mining, at Brenda Mines and retired from Line Creek Mine in Elkford. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and spending time with family and friends.
Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret and their 3 daughters: Beverly (Glenn), Wanda (Gregg), Bonita (Jim); 6 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason), Shawn (Shayna), Taylor (Maja), Davis (Alicia), Carl (Meghan) and Joel (Kendalle) and 6 great-grandchildren, Olive, Norah, Willa, Braxtynn, Dahlen, and Sloan. He will also be missed by his 3 brothers, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Doug is predeceased by his son Damian and brother Brydon.
We would like to thank Kelowna General Hospital and the Cardiac Care Unit for their great care of Doug. Donations in memory of Doug may be made to Kelowna General Hospital Foundation, Cardiac Care Unit.
A Celebration of Life to announced at a later date.
We miss you Dad, Grandpa, Gramps…
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.valleyviewfuneralhome.com for the Richardson family.
