She comes from a large farming family of 15 children with three remaining, Olive, Albert and Georgette, who reside in the lower mainland of BC. They all grew up and schooled in Morinville and Jarvie, Alberta and moved to the French Community of Maillardville, BC in 1951, when Fern was 15.
She was always a hard worker. Her capabilities drew her to many types of employment which sometimes turned into hobbies like sewing, baking and cooking. Gardening and playing cards were always high on the list.
As well as her siblings she leaves behind Four children, Five grandchildren, Nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was a proud 10th generation ACADIAN.
She feels very blessed to have her nephew Bishop Gary Gordon perform the mass at:
Saint Edward’s Catholic Church, 11123 Okanagan Centre Road, Lake Country, BC on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 11am. A luncheon will follow at 12:30pm.
Internment will take place at 2pm at Lakeview Memorial Gardens at 2850 Dry Valley Road, Kelowna, BC.
