It is with great sadness that the family of Fred announces his passing at Kelowna, BC on April 13, 2025, at the age of 86.
Fred was born in Comox, BC on March 6, 1939. His family then moved to Vanderhoof, BC. After graduation, Fred, applied for and got his pilot's license for private pleasure. He landed (no pun intended) a job at a weather station where the only way in and out was by helicopter where he
enjoyed skiing down the slopes in the Great North. Fred got some time off and went with his buddies to a restaurant in Fort Fraser (actually the only restaurant). Well, the beautiful waitress caught his eye, that
was PAT. Love at first sight! Married and moved to Kitimat. Three children later, Fred left his beloved wife and children to get his journeyman electrician degree in Vancouver. He accomplished that and,
after meeting a friend from Kelowna, decided to look into the prospect of living in Kelowna. Fred got a full time job as head electrician at Crown Packaging and moved his family from Kitimat to Kelowna in 1973.
Fred enjoyed a quiet life with Pat. Cooking, gardening, camping and being with family were his passions.
Fred will be lovingly remembered by the love of his life and sole mate, Pat, of 64 years; children Glenn (Kim) Schultz and Carrie Lee (Roland) Weeks; Grandchildren Kyrstin (Justin) Ziegler, Jaclynn Schultz, Justin (Jillian) Schultz, Brendan Schultz, Christopher, Steven and Kevin Weeks; brothers-in-law, Al (Sal) Markle and Brian (Renee) Markle, as well as 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Sadly predeceased by his son Kenn in 2013.
