

In Loving memory of Harold Raymond VICKERS who passed away peacefully at Spring Valley Care Home, after a brief illness. Ray was born in Bredenbury, SA in 1921. He was predeceased by his wife Ena in 2008, his parents Fred & Annie, five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his son, Doug (Patti), daughter Heather (Eric) Monczko of Kelowna, BC, five grandsons Paul (Tealya) Vickers, CJ (Shannon) Vickers of Kelowna, BC, Kent (Cindy) Brown of Winnipeg, MB, Scott (Corrie) Brown of Kelowna, BC and Aaron (Michelle) Brown of Shilo, MB. Seven great grandchildren and one sister, Ollie, of Calgary, AB, also survive.
Ray joined the RCAF in 1942 and married Ena Maxwell in 1944. After a brief stay in Winnipeg, they settled in Brandon, MB where Ray spent much of his working life as a Civil Engineer with the Dept. of National Defense, working in Shilo.
Ray and Ena’s retirement years were spent between homes in the Shuswap, BC and Scottsdale, AZ, before settling in Kelowna. Ray was an avid golfer and a talented craftsman who could build or fix anything the family required. He had a gentle and caring disposition and was loved and respected by all who met him.
A private family ceremony will be held at a future date.
