HENRY RIEGER

With sadness we announce the passing of Henry Rieger on September 29, 2013 in Kelowna, BC at the age of 86 years.

Henry will be lovingly remembered by: his wife Alice; 5 children: Chris (Heidi) Rieger, Wendy (Tad) Salamon, Diane (Hilary) Syrnyk, Darrel Rieger, and Carol (Dave) Snodgrass; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two sisters: Mary Runzer and Ann Sali.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Jan (Genevieve) nee Metz; great grandchild Caleb Lanz; 3 sisters: Julia Lesko, Sophie Schneider, Rose Schneider; 4 brothers: Adam Rieger, Frank Rieger, Fred Rieger, and George Rieger.

Henry was one of the original Rutland Rovers; a multi faceted and multi talented orchardist, who in enjoyed dancing regularly at the seniors’ hall.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 3, 2013 at St. Theresa’s Parish, 750 Rutland Road N., Kelowna, BC with Rev. Otto Rollheiser, OMI officiating.

Memorial donations in Henry’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society, 202 – 1835 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC V1Y 3H5.
